The Silva Cross Trail 7XT is an all-round head torch for many outdoor activities including hiking, running and biking. All made possible with a range of accessories and flexible attachment options.

The Cross Trail 7XT has a high 600 lumen output, which as a guide, is great for walking and running, plus steady biking. Depending on the mode the burn time is anywhere between 8 and 16 hours. Plus there is a handy low battery warning and reserve mode which gives you 30 mins of light. For very long night-time sessions, there is a super-low mode at 80 lumen, which is totally fine for easy walking terrain. All this power comes from a slim and powerful 3.5Ah rechargeable battery. This battery placed in the battery holder on the headband, in a backpack or pocket using the included extension cable or even attached to a bike using the included velcro strap.

The light uses Silva Intelligent Light® which is a combination of a long reach spotlight and a close flood light. This light adjusts depending on the tilt of the headlamp. A downward tilt makes a wider beam, which is great for hiking. An upward tilt produces a longer reaching beam, which is required for faster moving activities.

As alluded to in the opening paragraph, the Cross Trail 7XT comes with a range of accessories and attachments, so you can set up how you like for the activity you are about to start. Generally the head torch will either be on your head, on a helmet or attached to a bike.

Starting on your head the torch still has options. The battery can be attached to the back of the headband, or the cable can be run from the back via a rear cable guide and extension into a pack, or pocket, where the battery can be kept warm for better performance in the cold. The headband itself is wide and elasticated with a silicon strip for grip and low profile buckles for adjustments. This combination makes for a comfortable and secure setup.

For bikers the Cross Trail 7XT can be snapped straight onto a helmet with the elastic, or the torch section can be taken off and put into the included helmet mount. The other mount included is for attaching to your bike.

Other features to note are the large on and off button, perfect in the cold and when wearing gloves. The torch and battery meet IPX5 requirements, so water resistant (to water jets)
