The Guide 44+8 is a classically styled mountaineering day pack with ergonomic shoulder straps, detachable, padded hip fins with gear loops and an adjustable sternum strap. Built on Deuter's Alpine back system with the new Delrin U-shaped frame integrated to improve stability and distribute load evenly, the Guide 44+8 is incredibly comfortable with the perfect comfort to weight ratio for any action packed expedition out in the hills. When it comes to carrying kit, the Guide 44+8 is unbeatable coming in as the largest bag in the Guide range, offering copious amounts of space in its 44 litre main compartment for an action packed day or a multi-day trip in the mountains.
But this isn't where the Guide 44+8's capacity ends with that +8 proving rather handy for the overall versatility of the pack. The largest in the range, the Guide 44+8 comes with a fully functional, height adjustable and removable lid that secures over the top of the bag. This lid comes with its own large zippered pocket for essentials and additional kit. It's the same story with the removable, padded hip belt that comes with its own set of pockets for easy access to phones, GPS devices or snacks. Inside the packs there's an elasticated compartment to separate off wet clothes and hold a 3L hydration pack. Crucially, much of this additional storage can be removed meaning the 44+8 can be used as a slimmed down, cragging pack or a much larger pack that could be used over a series of big days camping out in the mountains.
