The Black Diamond Raven Pro has been updated to improve on its very popular predecessor. The Raven Pro is now lighter and has a slightly angled and improved trapezoidal shaft for better grip and more aggressive climbing. The pick, adze and spike have also been improved and provide more security.

These changes have improved the axe but it is still at heart a traditional, lightweight mountaineering axe that's designed for glacier travel and mountaineering routes. The aluminium shaft keeps the weight down, but the spike and head are stainless steel to stand up the to the abuse of rock and ice over long days and trips.
